Wii Fit Challenge Update: Broke my Back on the Hula Hoop
Posted by Matt
Right, so I unlocked the 6 minute version of the Hula Hoop exercise and I decided to give it a shot. At this point, I had already done about 30 minutes worth of exercises and I felt beat. I hit the showers and once I finished I stepped out and this is where time stopped.
I leaned over the sink slightly and felt a sharp pain my lower back. My knee gave out and I crumpled to the ground. After a few minutes of just lying there I decided to test the water a bit so to speak and see if I could move. I commanded my toes to wiggle and saw that they did. Okay, so whatever happened wasn’t serious enough to paralyze me. I was able to stand up slowly clutching on nearby objects for support. It took me about 20 agonizing minutes just to get dressed and throw my macbook and cellphone onto my bed before heaving myself onto it as well.
What an incredible and satisfying feeling. I essentially laid there for about 5 hours with my cellphone and Macbook to amuse me. I have a midterm exam tomorrow and I am in so much incredible pain to the point where missing out on the 15% actually feels quite appealing.
Wii Fit Update
In other news, the exercises and activities are great! I’ve gotten into the rhythm of opening up with 10 minutes of yoga and stretching early on before following it up with 20 - 30 minutes of strength and aerobics activities. It seems like I didn’t stretch enough, however.
It seems like my whole family is against me.
- Had steak twice in a single week
- Fried chicken for dinner one day
- My aunt and cousin gave me a portion of their lunch because I couldn’t finish it
Of course, others might raise the argument:
“Matt, you didn’t have to eat them.”
If I didn’t eat them, the wonderful food would’ve gone to waste! I try not to waste food as much as I can! I would be doing a disservice! It’s as if they’re trying to test my mental will or something.

Ouch! Sounds painful
Think of the ‘food wastage’ this way - would you rather it was in the trash/recycled or on yr hips, or stomach, or whatever part of yr body it is you’re interested in losing weight from

My dad once said to me. You live to eat; you don’t eat to live.
Yeah…
