Too bad it would never work.
A local 7-11 in my area was tired of the youth that were hanging around in front of the store. They were scaring away business from locals. He had the bright idea of hooking up classical and opera music onto the outside speakers and started playing it instead of the local radio. Sure enough, the youth who were clearly turned off by it stopped loitering in front.
A school in Calgary addresses vandalism issues using the same method. Places that were moat at risk of being vandalzed were rendered less attractive for youth to hang out. It was the same principle. They started playing weird Operas and classical music in these high traffic zones which resulted in less vandalism problems.
Wouldn’t it be funny if WoW Insider started ramping up Pavoratti, Vivaldi, and Beethoven whenever someone got to the comment page? Too bad it probably wouldn’t work
